    1. Filters and Seperators

    Encetech has the capability to design and supply​​ gas filtering equipment with different process technologies:

    • Slug catcher / KO drums (Gravity separation: in absence of turbulence, under the effect of gravity, the different phases of a mixed stream, after a certain time, decant and form interface levels​​ between phases)
    • Gas / liquid separators (Impingement separation: vane or demister type, when a drop of liquid hits an obstacle, it tends to adhere to it and to coalesce with other droplets that hit the same obstacle)
    • Separators (Centrifugation separation:​​ mini cyclonic separation is a method of removing particulates from gas through vortex separation. Rotational effects and gravity are used to separate mixtures of solids and fluids)
    • Process liquid filters / coalesce (Coalescing separation: small droplets such as lubricating oil, process liquids and other fluids with a low interfacial surface tension liquids should be removed from gas through coalescing separation – fiberglass cartridge)

    Encetech directly manages the entire value chain: equipment (including QOC) are designed and manufactured internally with big advantages in terms of flexibility and quality.

    Filter Separators

    Gas filtrating separator is an important equipment in gas transmission and distribution system. During the gas transmission and​​ distribution, flowmeter, regulator,and valves require protection against the damage potential of solid impurities and liquid impurities. That is, high-precision filtrating separator must be installed in front of the critical equipments

    Encetech’s range of​​ filter separators is intended for those applications where a high efficiency removal of solids and liquid particles is required, regardless of their size. The use of these separators is the best solution to remove very fine mists or aerosols from the gas​​ flow. Other applications include the removal of lubricating oil from process gas, entrainments in natural gas lines upstream compressor stations, reducing and metering stations, etc.

    Principle of Operation
    In filter separators, removal of solid and liquid particles takes place gradually.
    At vessel inlet, larger particles are removed by gravitational effect due to the gas velocity decreasing and by impingement on inner surfaces.
    Filter elements entrap the smaller solid particles, while liquid droplets coalesce to be removed in the following stage consisting of a vane unit. The contaminant is collected either in a separate reservoir connected to the filter separator or in the same vessel out of the gas flow.

    High filtration efficiency (99,9% > 2μm) straight​​ type or angle pattern gas filter with replaceable cellulose filter element for natural gas and biogas applications. Sizes available: 1″ to 6″.s

    1. Horizontal Coalescing Seperator

    Encetech Horizontal double barrel and/or Vertical filter​​ separators are designed to provide efficient liquid/solid removal and high gas capacities. The coalescer filter section removes bulk liquid and solid particles and also coalesces fine liquid droplets into larger ones. These larger droplets are then removed​​ in the second Double Pocket (DP) Vane] section. Encetech utilizes high capacity DP Vanes to increase the separator’s throughput and thus minimize the separator diameter.

    The double barrel configuration allows you to maximize the gas flow in the upper barrel without re-entrainment while the liquid drops into the lower barrel. Encetech offers standard coalescing filters that can be replaced periodically or designs that can be cleaned and reused.

    • Desiccant dehydrators to prevent lube oil mist or other liquid contaminant from​​ entering the absorbent bed causing
      degradation loss or effectiveness of the desiccant or treating media.
    • Glycol dehydrators to remove compressor lube oil mist, from the gas stream, to prevent contamination or foaming of
      the glycol fluid.

    The horizontal coalescing separator provides effective coalescing of aerosols streams when placed after:

    1. Vertical Coalescing Seperator

     

    The removal of​​ entrained liquid aerosols, such ascompressor lube oils, trace hydrocarbons, and water mist, from natural gas
    streams is necessary for the protection of downstream equipment. Efficient removal of these contaminants, by use of an effective
    coalescing separator and media combination can prevent costly problems and downtime with downstream equipment, such as
    compressors, membranes, instrument valves, piping, etc.

    Features of a vertical configuration:

    • Utilizes gravity to remove liquid.
    • Only the lower portion of​​ the element is saturated with liquid.
    • Ability to allow more flow-through in a given house size.
    • Ability to down-size expensive hardware and maintain flow rates

    The vertical coalescing separator provides effective coalescing of aerosols streams​​ when placed in front of:

    1. Dry Gas Filters

    These filters have been proved to be the best solution in those applications​​ where the size of particles to be removed is too small to allow the use of common separators.​​ Encetech’s dry gas filters can remove solid particles from a gas stream in every working condition, by using a number of suitable filter elements . These filter elements are chosen according to the requested grade of filtration efficiency and pressure drop , besides other factors as type and quantity of entrainments , maintenance space , etc .

    Principle of Operation
    Filtration of solids:​​ as the gas gets into the​​ filter, the velocity decreases and the heavy entrainments drop out of the gas stream. The gas then raises and flows through the filter elements. Here the micronic particles are trapped in the fibres and retained; clean gas then flows through the inner perforated metal liner (core) to the filter outlet.

    Filtration of liquids:​​ for this application the real task of the filter elements is not to filter the liquids but to cause a coalescence effect. The liquid entrainments, in the form of fogs, lay on the​​ fibres of the cartridge generating larger and heavier droplets which will be removed by gravity at the outlet of the cartridge itself.

    1. Knockout Drums / Scrubbers

    A knock-out drum has a pre-separator with two​​ stages to filter coarse contamination of liquids and dust. The first stage has velocity breaker inserts such as baffles and the second stage has a demister package. The efficiency rate is 99% for > 10-20μm

    1. Vane Separators

    Vane separators are the best solution to the problem of separation of liquid particles from gas or mist, as they offer high efficiency, low pressure drop, and low maintenance cost. The​​ vane unit is the heart of every type of separator shown in this catalogue: consisting by various vanes, according to the different operating conditions, it can be manufactured in carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminium, etc., in order to meet customer’s​​ specifications

    Principle of operation
    The tipical vane type separator: the gas gets into the vessel and passes through the vane unit, splitting into many fluid ribbons, subject to sudden changes of direction, which cause a semi-turbulence, with consequent rolling of liquid entrainments against the walls of the vanes. Drops, enter into the the vane pockets and fall by gravity into the lower part of the vessel, where they are collected and drained.

     

    1. Multitube Separators

    Multitube separators are the​​ most suitable answer to eliminate liquid and dry gas impurities. They are used both at wellhead and at inlet to compression station, in distribution systems and in many other industrial processes.​​

    Advantages:

    • high separation efficiency, even at the presence of wide flow rate variations, which makes them suitable to be installed on plants to be extended in the future.
    • constant pressure drop regardless of contaminant loading and servicing.
    • low maintenance requiring only occasional blowdown of collected material .

    Principle of operation

    The separator element consists of multiple small diameter cyclone tubes assembled in tube bundles. The dirty gas enters through ports L, causing a swirling motion, which throws dry and liquid entrainments against wall​​ C of the cyclone tube: clean gas changes direction at the vortex and rises out through​​ outlet tube T. Impurities, being heavier, fall down through hole F into the proper storage area.

    1. Absolute Mist Eliminators

    The absolute mist eliminator is the​​ best system to knock down mists and vapours from an air stream before venting. This system enables you to avoid pollution coming from the process mists. The stream, rich in vapours and mists, moves into the vessel where pollutant is removed before venting.​​ 

    One of the most popular applications of the absolute mist eliminator is on turbines, as a vapour oil separator. The system offers a double advantage.

    Besides avoiding pollution, it gives to the user a great benefit.

    In fact oil is completely recovered​​ and recycled, reducing frequent fillings.

    1. Absolute Separators

    The absolute separator is designed for those applications where it is required to remove from a gas stream the maximum possible of small liquid particles, very fine mist as well as sub-micronic size. These separators are mainly used in Ammonia and Urea plants, for the separation of oil mist upstream of dessicant dryer beds. They are also effective for removal of mist in process stream such as Chlorine, Oxigen, Nitrogen, Hydrogen, Carbon Dioxide, etc

    Principle of Operation
    The absolute separator is a multistage equipment where several forces, such as gravity, centrifugal force, inertial impact, direct interception and Brownian diffusion, are applied.
    The first stage, consisting of a cyclone tube bundle or a vane type mist extractor, removes liquid entrainments from the gas.
    The second stage, consisting of coalescing elements, provides the high efficiency final separation.

    1. Free Water Knock Out (FWKO) Vessels

    FWKO Vessels are horizontal or vertical vessels designed to separate liquids of different densities (typically oil and water4. They can only be used on streams where the fluids exits separately and not as emulsion. FWKO vessels are used in​​ conjunction with other equipment in order to achieve desired results. The degree of separation achieved depends on:​​ 

    • Retention time
    • Density differential of fluid​​

    1. 2-3 Phase Separator System/ Skids

    Separators are​​ mechanical equipment utilized to separate free liquids from natural gas. ​​ To achieve separation, separators use one or more of the following principles: ​​Momentum , Gravity Settling ,Coalescing

    Separators are supplied in two major orientations: vertical and​​ horizontal and either as two or three phase separators.  Each orientation provides operational advantages and selection is based on the specific application.

     

    1.  Heaters
    1. Indirect Gas Heaters  (Water Bath Heaters)

    Encetech’s indirect gas heater consists​​ mainly of firetubes enclosing burners and a coil containing gas to be heated. They are called ‘indirect heaters’ because a medium (water-glycol mixture or oil) is used to transmit heat (thermic exchange) generated by the burner and received by the gas.
    The​​ safety system, which is part of every​​ Encetech’s heater, can detect all operating defects and controls independently the unit under each operating condition, in order to guarantee the correct outlet gas temperature. The heaters can be supplied with regulation and safety systems either of electric or pneumatic type, wherever electric power is not available. In fact, they are installed mainly in remote areas because of their reliability, high performance and low maintenance cost.

    Principle of operation

    Encetech​​ indirect gas​​ heater working operation is due to the circulation of hot water or oil into the shell. The firetube is installed in the lower part of the shell, while the coil to be heated is placed above it.
    The burning fuel transmits heat to the firetubes and through these to the water or oil bath; hot water or oil heat the coil walls and consequently the cold gas inside.

    1. Electrical heaters

    For applications where high duty is not needed, electric heaters can be used.

     

    1. Heat Exchangers

    Encetech design and​​ manufacture of shell and tube heat exchangers for the natural gas industry. The heat transfer medium can be a water and glycol mixture or saturated steam. Horizontal or vertical vessels are built according to international codes and standards.

     

    1. Skid Mounted Gas Fired Water Heaters

    Skid mounted heaters are designed and supplied to control the gas temperature after pressure reduction in gas reduction stations. The unit provide hot water to a shell and tube heat exchanger before the pressure regulators in the station. Skids are custom built and sizes vary from 300 kW to more than 1 MW.​​ 

    1. Hazardous Area Electrical Heaters

    All hazardous area heaters manufactured by Encetech can be supplied fully certified to meet the latest requirements of the IECEx Scheme, CSA or the European ATEX Directive.

    Electrical heaters can be used to heat the gas prior to pressure reduction. The outlet gas temperature is controlled by a thyristor control panel.

    Heaters are certified for use in Zone 1 Gas group II A, B and C.

    In addition to a range of standard products Encetech also designs and builds custom electrical heaters to the customer’s unique requirements. The range of standard products includes air heaters, immersion heaters, line heaters, water heaters, thermostat​​ and transmitter enclosures as well as heating elements.

    These Units are usually installed in Gas Treatment Plant when dry gas is requested. Triethylene Glycol (TEG) is the liquid normally used for obtaining the dry gas product. The dry outlet gas obtained​​ in TEG Dehydration Units are in the range from 7 to 3 lb/MMSCF.

    1. Glycol Regeneration Unit

    MEG Regeneration Unit are supplied as stand alone packages; typically associated to LTS Plants where the spent MEG will be regenerated in the range from 60 to 80 wt%. 

    DEG or TEG Regeneration Unit could be supplied as stand alone packages or associated to Gas Dehydration section. In case of TEG (commonly used for gas dehydration) the max. glycol regenerated purity can reach the value of 99.95 wt%

    1. Gas Sweetening Unit

    Natural gas where CO2 and/or​​ H2S content is present are usually treated in Gas Sweetening Unit. ​ The circulating media which absorb CO2 and/or H2S could be MEA (monoethylene amine) or DEA (diethylene amine) or MDEA (blending of monoethylene and diethylene amine). The acid residual content in the treated product can be reduced to values up to 5 ppm or lower.

    1. HIPPS

    The High Integrity Pressure Protection Systems (HIPPS) is a mechanical and electrical system designed in order to reduce the chance that the system pressure will exceed the​​ tolerable allowable pressure. The protection against over-pressure is obtained by quickly isolating the source causing the overpressure.

    The entire HIPPS package consists of:

    • Initiators
    • Logic solver
    • Final Element


    The initiators are field sensors and they are the inputs required to detect the hazardous condition. The logic solver accepts these inputs and generates correct outputs that change the state of the final elements in order to mitigate the hazardous condition.

    1. H2S Removal with Liquid Redox

    This process is based on a reduction-oxidation reaction- that converts H2S present in sour gas to elemental sulphur through reaction with aqueous ferric ions. Process forms solid sulphur particles that are easily filtered from the solution. ​ Liquid Redox​​ is commonly used when gas stream has an high content of H2S, so solid bed technology is not feasible, and in addition low flow rate results in a non-economic application of direct oxidation process (Claus)

    1. H2S Removal Units- Solid Bed Technology

    Solid bed technology is Natural Gas Sweetening process which achieves a very fine purification, with ultra-low contents of H2S. Hydrogen Sulfide chemically reacts with a solid adsorbent, generating a solid stable and non-toxic product, that can be easily and safely disposed or regenerated.

    1. Indirect Water / Glycol Bath Heaters

    The main scope of these units is to heat the gas in order to avoid hydrates formation when the gas pressure is reduced.

    The gas is heated through a coil/bundle exchanger immersed in a water/glycol bath that transfers heat generated by a burner based fire tube, also immersed in the same bath.

    Encetech can propose tailored solutions according to the Client requests, in a wide range of duties, from few dozens to several thousand of KW.

    1. Valves Skid For Gas Processing Unit

    Valve skids are usually part of​​ Molecular Sieve Dehydration Unit.

    Valve Skids mainly consist of Switching valves​​ associated to the Adsorber Towers. Switching valves are ball valves – metallic seat type suitable to operate at high temperature (specifically during regeneration heating phase). They are equipped with suitable actuators in order to provide the changeover​​ sequence by switching Adsorber Towers under adsorbing stage and towers under regeneration cycles.

    1. Natural Gas Odorizing Unit

    PF odorant injection systems can manage different types of odorant, such as TBM and THT, guaranteeing a constant odorization ratio​​ at every gas flow rate.Depending on system requirements, injection may occur either by means of solenoid valves or by a volumetric pump.
    In case of solenoid-driven systems, a connection with the high-pressure section of the plant provides the required pressure to inject the odorant into the gas line; regulation of amount of odorant are obtained with micrometric valves and opening time of the solenoid valve.
    All systems are provided with a dedicated control unit to manage process parameters, acquire the signals from the metering equipment in the plant and adjust the amount of odorant injected on the base of gas flow. In pump systems, the pump gives the required pressure to inject the odorant into the gas line. The minimum quantity of odorant injected can be​​ set by tuning the stroke of the pump.
    The odorant storage tank can be used also as backup system in case of system failure. Part of the gas is sent through the storage tank and, by lapping the surface of odorant, the gas takes away a quantity of odorant into the main stream.

    1.  Pressure Reducing and Metering Solutions (PRMS)
    1. Pressure Reduction and Metering Station

     

    The skid-mounted pressure reduction metering station (industrial gas) is a regulator station specially designed for industrial users, including gas power plant (gas turbine, gas boiler and other gas supply facilities), fertilizer plant, ceramic plant, carbon plant, glass factory and other enterprises. It is a gas supply equipment to industrial users after gas filtering, regulating and metering.​​

    The aim of a pressure reducing skid is to regulate the NG outlet pressure to a setting value. One typical solution consists mainly of two reducing streams (2×100% capacity) with two regulators each: one is the main regulator and the other is used as a monitor/slam shut valve. Active and monitor pressure regulator shall be “Top entry type” in order to guarantee a simply maintenance of the equipment. The active regulator normally assures pressure reduction to the setting value.​​

    To assure gas supply continuity in case of failure of the active regulator a second regulator (monitor) is installed in series. The monitor regulator is normally wide open. In the event of an accidental increase of outlet pressure, the monitor regulator will take over as control valve. During the normal operation, depending from the service, one line is working while the other line is in stand-by. Only in case of a failure of the monitor and main regulator, the standby line starts to work. An overpressure slam shut device, in the event the outlet pressure exceeds an acceptable value, protects the equipment downstream of the pressure regulators from over-pressure.To minimize accidental intervention of the slam-shut device, a spring-loaded pressure relief valve is installed and designed to release relatively small quantities of gas only.

    District regulator cabinet is a gas pressure reduction metering device specially designed for urban resident sub-district. It is a gas supply equipment to domestic users after gas filtering, regulating and metering.

    The configuration mainly includes inlet block valve, filter, shut-off valve, regulator, safety relief valve, flowmeter, outlet block valve and etc. It integrates the functions of regulating, metering, monitoring, telemetering/remote control(SCADA system),peak shaving, noise elimination (muffler is separately provided), odorizing, heating, and safety protection.     1. Aviation & Diesel Fuel Dep

    5.1 Coalescer Seperators

    Two-stage coalescer separators are the primary defense against fuel contamination by water and dirt. The coalescer separator housings contain both first-stage coalescer and second-stage separator cartridges with no internal moving parts. The product is pumped under pressure to flow through the housing inlet chamber and inside/out through the multi-media coalescer cartridge. This specially developed multi-media cartridge configuration traps and holds minute solid particles to less than one micron, while forcing small water droplets to commingle and grow into heavier, larger drops that fall by gravity to the housing sump area. The cleaned fuel continues to flow outside/in through the second-stage separator cartridges. These separator cartridges strip any remaining water droplets from the fuel allowing only clean, dry fuel to pass.

    Encetech​​ two-stage coalescer separators will continuously​​ remove solids and water contaminants from aviation​​ fuels. Vertical and horizontal housing designs are​​ available with a wide selection of coalescer and​​ separator cartridges to meet specific applications.​​ Housings are designed for easy servicing and low​​ maintenance.             5.2 Coalescer Filter Cartridge

    Coalescer cartridges are available​​ in two cartridge mounting styles: self-centering rod​​ mount and screw base. The rod mount style has treated​​ metal end caps, while the screw base ends are injection​​ molded, glass-filled nylon. This screw base material​​ offers superior strength and ease of maintenance​​ uniform threads, no shrinkage, no galling and no gasket​​ to recover.​​ A permanently affixed Buna-N gasket seals against​​ the V-type knife edge mounting adaptor to provide a​​ positive seal. It will not separate from the cartridge​​ during installation or change out.

    Encetech​​ separator cartridges are cleanable and reusable.They come in a variety of dimensional and end cap​​ configurations.Encetech​​ separator cartridges​​ feature a specially developed treated hydrophobic​​ media. This media provides improved separation of​​ fine water drops compared to standard teflon​​ screen.​​ An ultrasonically seamed tube of the synthetic screen​​ is placed around an epoxy coated metal shell, then​​ adhesive bonded to metal end caps with gaskets.

            5.4 Clay Treater Housings

    Clay treaters are usually placed upstream of a coalescer​​ separator system to remove surface active agents​​ (surfactants), color and additives from jet fuel. These​​ unwanted contaminants may be present in fuel at the​​ processing and refining levels or picked up from various​​ transportation methods such as trucks, ships and​​ pipelines that carry several types of petroleum products​​ in addition to jet fuel. The contaminant compounds will​​ accumulate and disarm the coalescer cartridge and​​ reduce the water coalescing efficiency of the coalescer​​ separator. Clay treatment removes the surfactant​​ compounds, color and additives by adsorption and​​ delivers treated fuel to the coalescer separator while​​ prolonging the life of the coalescer cartridges.​​ Clay treater housings have no internal moving parts.​​ The product flows through the housing inlet chamber​​ and equalizer tube. The equalizer tube evenly distributes​​ product through each clay cartridge.

            5.5 Particulate Filters Housings

    Encetech​​ filter housings are specifically designed to remove​​ solid particles such as rust, dirt, pipe scale, sand and​​ metal from fuel. They are commonly located ahead of​​ clay treaters and coalescer separators to protect and​​ prolong cartridge life. A single pass through the filter​​ allows clean product to flow downstream.Encetech​​ filter housings will continuously remove solids from​​ fuel when used with​​ Encetech​​ standard single, double or​​ triple-length high efficiency filter​​ cartridges. Housings are designed for easy servicing and​​ low maintenance. All are built to ASME Code, Section​​ VIII, with many standard and optional accessories and​​ connections available to facilitate individual installation​​ requirements.
